ADVERBS

An adverbs is the word that add meaning of a verb, an adjective or another adverb. this means, it is a word that say something more about a verb, an adjective or another adverb.
Examples :
  • He came yesterday. (came = verb)
  • That is very beautiful. (beautiful = adjective)
  • The rain stopped quite suddenly. (suddenly = adverb)
Adverbs are formed from adjectives by adding -ly , examples :
  • slow - slowly
  • quiet - quietly
  • new - newly
  • simple - simply
  • gentle - gently
  • patient - patiently

TYPES OF ADVERBS

1. Adverb of time, this is shows when an action or something is done or happens.
    Examples :
  • She is eating now.
  • The train is leaving soon.
  • He told me about his family yesterday.
2. Adverb of manner , show how an action or something is done.
   Examples :
  • Our teacher speaks softly.
  • He walks quickly.
  • She failed badly.
3. Adverb of frequency, describes how often an action takes place.
    Examples :
  • Alex has never been to the cinema.
  • Sina sometimes makes silly mistakes.
  • She go to jogs twice a week.
4. Adverb of place, show where an action or something is done or happens.
    Examples :
  • He is standing outside.
  • I have seen that girl somewhere.
  • There is litter everywhere.
